We are all children in adult bodies. Yes we are, don't think we aren't for one moment. The fact that we WERE, indeed, children, is a huge part of each of us.

An American Marriage by Tayari Jones is a 2018 Algonquin Books publication. Well drawn characterizations and a thought provoking and timely topic combines to make a potent blend, which kept me riveted to the pages of this book.

I cannot, for the life of me, understand why people like this book. If it werenโ€™t for Oprah loving it, I honestly do not think people would buy it. There was no plot and it is the most boring book Iโ€™ve ever read.

I canโ€™t say that I loved An American Marriage. What I can say, is that it made me think deeply about human nature, love, and, of course, marriage. This is a thought-provoking, well-written, depth-filled character study about a marriage on the brink.

Station Eleven is a work of literary fiction. The fact that half of it is set in a post apocalyptic future doesn't change this.

This book lay undisturbed on my shelf for years, and now that I have finally read it, I only feel the sort of heaviness that comes from wanting something for so long that the eventual achievement of it is a loss.
